This was most of the camping.
This festy was very small but totally, I mean TOTALLY chill. the venue is at the cove camp ground in Virginia near Winchester and very near the west Virginia state line. The camp ground in general (the actual venue was known as camp 6)is very large with a lake which has swimming. This was a great way to beat the heat that is the only thing about these summer festivals. The staff was very friendly and didn't seem to mind much except for nitrous tanks. I even heard a story of one guy who was caught trying to sneak in and was given a wristband anyway. I'm not suggesting anyone try this but how's that for being cool and understanding? Due to the size it was hard to make money on beer and stuff like that but well worth it anyway. Also the rain didn't help.
It had the kind of vibe like it was a well kept secret, and you got the feeling like most of the people there were very down. In that aspect it reminded me of the kind of vibe I felt at Sound Tribe's Harmonic Conversion festivals, Although the comparison pretty much ends there.
DJ Williams
The bands were for the most part regional with notable performances by RAQ which I officially pronounce very cool, Reggae greats the Itals, Your Momma's Big Fat Booty Band, and The DJ Williams projekt. DJ played thursday night and rocked it out, representing Richmond VA the way it should be, hard.
I will definitely be going next year and would highly recommend it anyone looking for a weekend of great music, good people and freedom.
